The awards of the Game Development Contest for Mathematics Education, organized by the cooperation of Ankara Development Agency, Game Developers Association of Turkey (TOGED), and METU Teknokent Inc., found their owners. This contest was held to attract individuals, institutions, and companies that can develop games and software under the adverse conditions created by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The 59 games that applied to Game Development Contest for Mathematics
Education was objectively examined and evaluated by a jury consisting of the Ankara Development Agency and sector representatives with a comprehensive and detailed evaluation set based on criteria such as story, theme, teaching, originality, and gameplay.
After the evaluation, the awarded games were announced at the award ceremony held on the Zoom platform. The award ceremony was also broadcast live on Youtube.
Ankara Development Agency Secretary General Arif Şayık attended the award ceremony and said, “The gaming industry is a very important and value-added sector today. Everyone who follows our gaming companies, which have recently been sold at high prices, will appreciate that the results of the efforts made in this field. As the agency, we closely follow and support the IT and game ecosystem in Ankara. We will continue to give all the support we can in the activities to be carried out in this field. I would like to thank all our partners who contributed to the competition, with the awareness that the competition we organize is significant, especially to increase the interest of young people in the sector and keep them alive. Once again, I congratulate the developers who participated in the competition and were awarded."
Mustafa Mert ALADAĞ and Furkan AĞCA were the winners of the first prize in the competition with their game “Bilgelik Yolunda”. The second prize was given to Fazlı Bozatay for the game named “Sayı Dönüştürücü”. Muhammed Atmaca and Ali Atmaca won the third prize with their game named Doktor Matematik.
